Cosmetic plastic surgery
is surgery
that is performed for aesthetic purposes. Aspiring to recapture the
beauty of their youth, aged men, and especially women, resort to
cosmetic plastic surgery procedures such as blepharoplasty, breast
reconstruction, facelift, hair replacement etc. Even teenagers undergo
such facial
plastic surgeries as ear surgery or rhinoplasty. Everyone
wants their body to reflect their young and beautiful spirit, and, with
contemporary plastic
surgery developments and innovative methods,
there is almost nothing impossible.
One of the most widespread plastic surgery procedures is hair
transplantation. Using various techniques as tissue expansion, scalp
flaps, strip grafts and scalp reduction, surgeons achieve incredible
results, especially on men. The procedure takes 1-3 hours, but in some
cases patient has to undergo such cosmetic plastic surgery during
several months. Potential risks include loss of scalp tissue,
infection, unnatural look and visible scars, but the result duration is
permanent.
Another cosmetic plastic surgery is liposuction or suction-assisted
lipectomy. Fat deposits are removed with the help of special tube and
vacuum device which improve body contour. In general liposuction
concerns such area as buttocks, hips, abdomen, thighs, upper arms, but
it can be also performed on neck, ankles, chin and even cheeks. There
are enough risks, such as excessive bruising, fluid retention,
infection, post-anesthesia complications, skin rippling and
pigmentation changes. Liposuction history
knows examples when patients even died! Besides that liposuction
shouldn't be considered as a panacea. If one doesn't keep to a diet and
go in for sports after this plastic surgery operation, he/she will get
fat deposits in other areas of the body.
Perhaps, the most popular cosmetic plastic surgery is breast
augmentation and breast reconctruction. Strangely enough, but men also
resort to plastic surgery procedures
connected with breast. Thus some of them pursue gynecomastia or male
breast reduction. The operation includes the removing of excess fat and
glandular tissue from female-like breast and can take only one hour.
However, there are several risks, such as asymmetry, skin rippling,
fluid accumulation, scarring and pigmentation changes.
