Breast Plastic Surgery Review |
The fashion is changing constantly and, with the developing of
plastic surgery,
women are permitted to change not only their
dresses, but also their faces and bodies according to the latest
standards of beauty. Thus in 2006 the most popular cosmetic plastic
surgery procedures in the U.S. were liposuction (403,684) and
breast
augmentation (383,886). Actually breast plastic surgery is rather
widespread among women of different ages. Young girls, dreaming of a
brilliant stage career, are prepared to be operated in order to make
their breast more luring, while their mothers, or even grandmas, use
plastic surgery for breast lift and reconstruction.
Breast augmentation is performed by means of silicone or
saline
filled implants which represent a silicone shell filled either with a
viscous silicone gel or with saline liquid. This plastic surgery
procedure is
considered rather simple and takes one to two hours. In about a week
after the operation a patient can be back home, however, scars last
at the minimum six weeks. Besides that women who underwent breast
augmentation are likely to have additional operations in future.
Breast lift or mastopexy is dedicated to diminish the degree
of
breast ptosis. Mastopexy changes the shape of a breast by affecting
the tissue structure or by reshaping the “bra” of
the skin.
In
some cases this procedure is accompanied by breast implantation. There
are full breast lift and modified breast lift which requires less
incisions. However, the new shape is not kept up by aging breast
tissues, that is why the surgeon has to choose the
design corresponding the breast shape. The result can last one
to
two month after
the plastic surgery procedure.
Breast reconstruction is a plastic surgery procedure which is
assigned to restore breast appearance and
involves using implants or relocated flaps of natural tissue. It
usually takes many operations and can last over weeks and months. The
methods of breast reconstruction include flap reconstruction,
abdominal flaps and tissue expansion.
As too large breast may cause breathing and circulation
problems,
some women resort to breast reduction. During the procedure the
excess skin, fat and glandular tissue are excised, and sometimes it
involves breast lift. This plastic surgery operation is performed under
general
anesthesia, and the recovery usually takes from six months to one
year. The risks include altered nipple sensation, asymetry, fluid
retention in the breast and drooping.
Despite the use of plastic
surgery developments and modern
techniques, the result of the operation is unpredictable and there
are enough examples of awful
plastic surgery, even among celebrities.
