Awful Plastic Surgery Info |
Perhaps the first example of awful plastic surgery was
described
in a tale about magic spring. An old woman, being in chase of eternal
beauty, drank so much water from the magic rejuvenating spring
– a
fairy prototype of modern reconstructive technologies – that
she
turned into a new-born baby. Unfortunately this story doesn't end,
and despite the innovative plastic surgery
methods people are still
exposed to “fake” plastic surgery – or to
“plastic surgery
vice versa”, when, expecting some improvements of appearance,
a person gets many problems instead.
The most common complications include scars or other
post-operation
marks. During the recovery process scars usually fade, but if the
incisions were made incorrectly, the “traces” of
the procedure
may stay forever. However, these consequences seem quite
“harmless”
if one considers such possible complications as the nerve damage or
ruptures. For example after breast
augmentation 3-5% of women at 3
years and 7-10% at 5 years have broken implants and skin ruptures.
Besides that an operated part of the body, having got a more
aesthetic look, may stop serving its function. For example, a face with
Botox
injection loses its natural mimics and lips with collagen may become
less sensitive. In some cases awful plastic surgery can result in
death of the patient, as it was with Jansen van Rensburg who died
after liposuction performed by an unprofessional surgeon.
Even celebrities
are sometimes exposed to awful plastic surgery,
and, if for a comparatively unknown person an unsuccessful plastic
surgery operation is a personal tragedy, a celebrity has to share
his/her shame with the whole world. Thus after such a facial plastic
surgery procedure as lip augmentation Mickey Rourke's face
has lost
its character lines, which had made him famous in the era of
“9 ½
Weeks”. Another terrifying example – Jocelyn
Wildenstein's face,
so lovely before, which at present can be used as anti-training aids
for future plastic surgery specialists. People undergo difficult
plastic surgery procedures to look younger and more beautiful, but
who will admit that Michael Jackson's face or Lolo Ferrari's breast
look natural? Actually awful plastic surgery doesn't always result
from dilettante plastic surgeons, but also from patients who don't
know when to stop.
